Privacy Policy

Promo Drop is a browser extension that finds promo codes and cashback deals on whop.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the extension works.

Data we collect

Promo Drop does not track your browsing history, use cookies, or integrate with any third-party analytics or advertising services. We only process data that you explicitly provide or that is necessary to deliver the service:

• We do not track your browsing history beyond whop.com.
• We do not collect analytics or usage telemetry.
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels.
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

Data stored locally

Promo Drop stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s storage API:

• Settings preferences: Whether promo detection and banner notifications are enabled (on/off toggles).
• Account session: If you create an optional Promo Drop account, an authentication token and your email are stored locally so you stay signed in. This data syncs across your Chrome browsers if Chrome Sync is enabled.

This data never leaves your device except to authenticate with the Promo Drop dashboard service.

Optional account & dashboard

Promo Drop offers an optional account and dashboard to track your savings and cashback. Creating an account is entirely voluntary. The extension works fully without one. If you create an account:

• Account data: Your email address and password are stored securely in Firebase Authentication (provided by Google). Passwords are hashed and salted; we cannot view them.
• Savings & cashback data: Records of promo codes you’ve used and cashback claims you’ve submitted are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your account. This includes: product names, product URLs, discount amounts, cashback amounts, and payment history.
• Whop username: If you provide your Whop username for cashback, it is stored with your account to process payments.

This data is used solely to provide the dashboard service and process cashback payments. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or shared with third parties.

Cashback requests

When you submit a cashback request, the following information is sent to our dashboard service:

• Your email address (used to contact you about the request and to hold your cashback account)
• Your Whop username (used to pay your cashback)
• The product name and URL
• The product price and billing cycle (if detected)

This data is used solely to process your cashback request. If you don’t already have a Promo Drop account, one is created for your email address so your request can be tracked and paid; you can set a password later to access it. It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

Affiliate links

Promo Drop earns a commission through the Whop affiliate program. This is how it stays free. An affiliate parameter (?a=) is applied to your Whop link only when you use Promo Drop to get a benefit: you copy a promo code, request cashback, or click through to browse deals. This parameter:

• Does not cost you anything extra. You pay the same price.
• Is not applied indiscriminately on every Whop page, only when you take one of the benefit actions above.
• Does not replace another affiliate’s referral unless you actively take a discount or cashback from us.

Permissions

Promo Drop requests the minimum permissions necessary:

• storage: To save your settings preferences and account session.
• Host access to whop.com: To detect promo codes and display the on-page scan button on Whop product pages.
• Host access to promodrop.codes: To communicate with the optional dashboard service for account authentication, savings tracking, and cashback submissions.

Third-party services

Promo Drop uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): For optional account sign-in. Subject to the Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google Cloud Firestore (Google): For optional savings and cashback data storage. Subject to the Google Cloud Privacy Notice.

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at promodrop@mail.com. Local extension data can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome’s extension storage.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be included with the extension and hosted at this URL. The “Last updated” date above will be revised.
