Black Box review
Black Box is a Whop membership from Chris Rios, known online as RiosToRiches, and its centerpiece is Hidden Clearances: a deal-finding platform for unadvertised markdowns, in-store clearance and local price errors at big retailers such as Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and Costco [1][3]. It is aimed at resellers who source stock from those chains, at contractors and DIYers trimming project costs, and at everyday shoppers who would rather pay clearance prices for things they need anyway [3].
That is not the whole package. Around the platform sit real-time alerts, a members' Discord, a long shelf of video courses on topics from Amazon FBA to credit and travel hacking, and a separate Pokémon restock tracker called PokeHunt [2][3][5]. The appeal is breadth: one Whop login opens a sourcing tool, a community and a library in the same place.
This review is built from public material: the Whop store, product and plan records, the Hidden Clearances terms, Whop's help pages, Rios's Whop profile and YouTube channel, and press coverage [1][2][3][4][6][7][8][9][11]. We checked the Whop listing on 13 October 2026, and we point out where a statement comes only from the store itself.
Is Black Box legit?
Yes. Black Box is a long-running Whop store with an identifiable creator and a large, verifiable sales record. It opened on Whop on 14 May 2022 under the account @riostoriches, which lists Los Angeles as its base and classes the store as reselling business training [1]. The creator's Whop profile, active since January 2022, shows two further stores under the same name: Black Box Clips and Hidden Files [7]. The YouTube channel linked from the store carries the name Chris Rios [1][6].
Payment runs entirely through Whop's checkout. All three current plans are Whop subscriptions: two monthly plans that open with seven days at $0, and a yearly plan billed at checkout [4]. The Hidden Clearances terms name Whop as the merchant of record, so Whop rather than Black Box may be the name on a card statement [8].
The member record is striking. On 13 October 2026 the store showed a 5.0 rating from 4,279 reviews, with 4,167 of those at five stars, or 97 percent [1][2]. That rating covers the whole store, across every product it sells [2].
Who runs Black Box
Rios keeps the Whop bio short and provocative: "I reveal the secrets to how the rich rig the game." [1] The store links out to an Instagram account named instoreclearance, TikTok and YouTube under RiosToRiches, and an X account called glitchestoriches [1]. The handles tell you where the brand's interests lie: retail glitches, clearance aisles and personal finance.
The YouTube channel fills in the personal finance side. Its About text frames the channel as showing viewers how to "game the system", and its uploads include a guide to raising credit limits and a travel hacking vlog filmed in Colombia [6]. Those subjects match the credit and travel hacking modules on the Black Box course shelf almost exactly [2][6], so the channel works as a preview of the teaching style.
Black Box is also not a one-off. Hidden Files, another reseller training store on the same Whop profile, showed a 4.9 rating from 931 reviews when we looked [7].
What you get with Black Box
Hidden Clearances is the core product. According to its Whop page, the platform checks thousands of retailers for hidden clearance, local price errors and unadvertised markdowns, then shows real inventory, the store location and the price so a member can decide whether a trip is worth it before leaving home [3]. The Premium membership adds nationwide price errors, real-time alerts, weekly refreshes of local deals and a private community where members post their finds [3]. Signing in to the Hidden Clearances app works through a Discord or Google account [8].
The Whop product also carries Explorer Guides, a step-by-step getting-started track pitched at any experience level, plus an inventory tracker with live updates, an onboarding area and an announcements channel [3].
Then there is the course shelf, which is shared across the paid plans. It opens with a START HERE section and a module on building a side hustle from scratch, then runs through two Amazon FBA courses, reverse split arbitrage, an introduction to options trading, a Walmart selling course with recorded Walmart calls, a lesson on registering an LLC, reselling tips, credit repair, a credit series and travel hacking [2][3]. Archived educational voice calls and a Shippo discount on shipping labels round it out [2].
PokeHunt is the specialist add-on. It follows Pokémon restocks online, new drops and inventory activity at stores nearby, and sends alerts when products go live; access is granted as a Discord role [5]. The yearly plan includes that role along with the yearly members' Discord [2][5], and its product headline sells it as a way to skip the waitlist, which the store FAQ says usually clears within 72 hours [2].
How Black Box works day to day
The rhythm is daily. The store FAQ says new opportunities go up every day through Hidden Clearances and the community: price errors, hidden clearance finds, sourcing leads and strategies that members share with each other [2]. The Hidden Clearances FAQ adds that finds are added throughout the day, local deal data refreshes regularly and Premium members get alerts as new opportunities appear [3].
Speed matters. Some deals last only minutes while others stay live for several days, and the team's advice is to move quickly on anything worth buying [3]. To help members judge a find, the team says it researches and verifies deals before posting whenever possible, and many posts come with photos, receipts, pricing and feedback from other members [3].
The buying itself happens at the retailer. Hidden Clearances describes itself as an information tool, not a seller, and its terms ask members to confirm price and stock with the store before driving out [8]. For members whose local stores turn up little, the store points to the nationwide online deals and price errors included in the membership [3].
The store's own description of its edge is that it hunts for finds few other shoppers are looking for, using AI to scan the web, rather than reposting widely shared public deals [2]. That is the store's claim, but it explains the emphasis on local, unadvertised markdowns throughout the product pages [3].
What members say about Black Box
The review count is the first thing to notice: 4,279 ratings for a store that has been selling since 2022, with 97 percent at five stars on 13 October 2026 [1][2]. Many of the reviews are short and enthusiastic, so the longer ones shown on the Hidden Clearances page are the more useful read [3].
Those longer reviews praise the product for what it is meant to do. A single parent calls Black Box "a cheat code for flipping" and adds that it also helps them buy everyday things very cheaply [3]. A long-time member singles out the range, from big online deals to hidden in-store clearance [3]. Another reviewer says it takes people who already know the reselling world to the next level quickly [3].
The platform has drawn notice outside Whop, too. In an August 2026 piece on Home Depot penny items, Chowhound named Hidden Clearances among the discount shopping apps that can alert shoppers to penny deals [11].
Who Black Box is best for
Black Box suits people who live within reach of several big-box stores and enjoy the hunt. Resellers sourcing clearance stock, contractors and DIYers buying materials, and households stocking up at clearance prices are the three audiences the Hidden Clearances page names [3].
Pokémon collectors are a separate fit. PokeHunt is sold on its own as a low-cost monthly plan for restock alerts, and the yearly plan bundles it in [2][4][5].
It also suits members who want more than deals. Anyone curious about Amazon FBA, credit building or travel hacking gets that material on the same shelf as the sourcing tools [2]. Comfort with Discord helps, since the community and the PokeHunt role both live there [5][8].
Black Box strengths
Decision-ready deal data. Showing inventory, store location and price before a member gets in the car is the right design for clearance hunting, where a wasted trip is the main cost [3].
A deep review base. More than four thousand Whop reviews averaging 5.0, built up over a store history going back to 2022, is a strong record by any standard [1][2].
A real trial on the monthly plans. Both Hidden Clearances and PokeHunt charge $0 at checkout for the first seven days [4], so members can test the platform against their own local stores before the first renewal.
Breadth in one subscription. Deals, alerts, a community, a Pokémon tracker and a long course shelf sit under one Whop account [2][3][5].
Things to know before you join Black Box
Billing. Hidden Clearances costs $0 for the first seven days, then $75 is charged automatically every 30 days until cancelled; PokeHunt follows the same pattern at $4.99 every 30 days [4]. Whop charges the standard price as soon as a trial ends and detects repeat trial sign-ups [9]. The yearly plan charges $799 at checkout and renews every 365 days [4].
Cancelling and refunds. The store FAQ says members can cancel any time, through their account settings [2][3]. The Hidden Clearances terms allow cancelling from the Whop billing portal, keep access running to the end of the paid period, and state that payments are non-refundable except where the law requires a refund [8]. Refund requests go through Whop's Resolution Center, under Orders and Billing history, and Whop says a decision arrives within a week [10].
Deals depend on retailers. Prices, stock and clearance status are set by each retailer, can differ store by store and are not guaranteed to be honored at the register, so the terms ask members to check before traveling [8]. Some finds sell through within minutes [3], so the best results come to members who can act quickly and make store runs.
Course topics vary in risk. The options trading and reverse split arbitrage modules deal with financial markets [2], where outcomes depend on the member and are never guaranteed.
Eligibility and sharing. The Hidden Clearances terms limit the service to US residents aged 18 or over and do not allow sharing an account or paid access [8].
Black Box price and how to save
There are three plans on Whop (checked 13 October 2026) [4]. Hidden Clearances opens with a 7-day free trial at $0, then costs $75 every 30 days. PokeHunt also has a 7-day free trial at $0, then costs $4.99 every 30 days. The Yearly Subscription costs $799 at checkout and renews yearly.
Before you check out, visit the Black Box code page on Promo Drop for current codes, tested at Whop's checkout. Promo Drop also offers cashback on eligible Whop purchases, which can trim the cost of a membership like this one.
Verdict: is Black Box worth it?
Black Box is a strong fit for resellers, DIYers and bargain-minded shoppers who live near big-box chains and want a tool that tells them where the clearance is before they leave home [3]. It is a well-established Whop store with a large, overwhelmingly positive review base and clear, Whop-run billing [1][2][4].
The free week on Hidden Clearances is the sensible way in: check your own nearby stores, try the alerts and the Discord, and see how often a find is close enough to act on [3][4]. Pokémon collectors can do the same with PokeHunt [4][5], and anyone who already knows they want the whole package can go straight to the yearly plan [2][4].

What is Hidden Clearances?
Hidden Clearances is the deal platform at the heart of Black Box. It looks for unadvertised markdowns, in-store clearance and local price errors at retailers such as Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and Costco, and shows inventory, store location and price for each find [3]. Premium members also get nationwide price errors, real-time alerts, weekly local refreshes and a private community [3]. Purchases are made directly with the retailer [8].
What is PokeHunt, and is it in the yearly plan?
PokeHunt is a Pokémon restock tracker. It follows online restocks, new releases and inventory activity at nearby stores, and alerts members when products go live; access comes as a Discord role [5]. It is sold monthly at $4.99 after a 7-day trial at $0 [4], and the Black Box yearly plan includes a section for claiming the PokeHunt role [2].
How do I cancel Black Box, and can I get a refund?
The store says you can cancel any time through your account settings [2][3], and the Hidden Clearances terms also allow cancelling from the Whop billing portal, with access continuing until the end of the paid period [8]. Those terms state that payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise [8]. Any refund request goes through Whop's Resolution Center, which aims to give a decision within a week [10].
Does Black Box work outside the US?
The Hidden Clearances terms limit the service to US residents aged 18 or over [8], and the retailers it names, including Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and Costco, are US chains [3]. The course shelf covers broader topics such as Amazon FBA and travel hacking [2], but the deal platform itself is built around US stores, so readers elsewhere should treat it as a US product.
