The Hobby Hangout review
The Hobby Hangout is a paid Discord server, sold on Whop under the store name HobbyHangout's Discord Server, where members buy, sell and trade sports cards and trading card game (TCG) cards with one another [1][2]. Its product page speaks directly to people who are new to dealing cards online, and says the server makes that easy and safe [2].
This review is built from public material: the Whop store and product page, Whop's records for both billing plans, and Whop's help pages on cancellations and refunds [1][2][3][4][5][6]. We checked the listing and the live plans on 13 October 2026.
Is The Hobby Hangout legit?
The Hobby Hangout is an established Whop store with a long record on the platform. The store was created on 21 September 2022, so it has been selling on Whop for more than four years, and Whop lists the store as based in St. Petersburg in the US [1].
Every purchase runs through Whop's checkout. Both plans are subscriptions that renew automatically, with the full price due at checkout and no trial period [3][4]. Canceling through Whop stops the next renewal, and access continues until the end of the period already paid for [5].
On 13 October 2026 the store showed a 4.1 rating from 227 reviews, with 1,760 people listed as joined [1]. On the product page, 164 of those 227 ratings were five stars, and the reviews featured first come from members who have been in the server for months or, in one case, years [2].
What you get with The Hobby Hangout
There is one product, The HobbyHangout Discord Pass, which the page headlines as "The #1 Sports & TCG Card Discord" [2]. That ranking is the store's own description, as is its figure of 4,000+ collectors trading every day [2]. What the pass buys is entry to the private Discord, and Whop lists chat, announcements, a public forum and a subscribers area among the store's sections [1].
The store's admin team handles onboarding on Whop itself. A pinned post dated 10 April 2026 walks new members through the setup: open the profile icon, go to Settings, connect Discord under Integrations, then return to the store and click Join Server, at which point access activates automatically [1]. The store also runs an Instagram account, @joinhobbyhangout [1][2].
How deals work in The Hobby Hangout
The server is a marketplace rather than a course. Members deal sports and TCG cards directly with one another, and the FAQ confirms that swaps are allowed alongside straight sales [2]. Before a first deal, the store asks newcomers to read its Server Guide and rules [2].
Security is the center of the pitch. The store description promises: "we ensure that you only pay upon the arrival of your cards" [1].
For extra reassurance there is a Middleman service. According to the FAQ, the seller ships the cards to AMT Memorabilia, which the store calls one of the largest eBay consignors in the world; the package is opened and checked on camera there, then sent on to the buyer [2]. Members start the process by opening a ticket in the server [2].
What members say about The Hobby Hangout
Whop holds the public feedback, with 227 ratings on the product page when checked [2]. Most of the reviews shown first are brief and warm, calling it a great server. The longest, written three years after purchase, credits the server with connections the member says would never have happened otherwise and calls it well worth the money for an avid buyer or seller [2].
Who The Hobby Hangout is best for
The Hobby Hangout suits collectors who buy, sell or swap sports cards and TCG cards often enough to value a dedicated room of fellow traders, and especially people newer to dealing online who want a guide, house rules and a middleman option in place [2].
Its strengths are specific: a pay-on-arrival model the store builds its pitch around, an on-camera middleman check through AMT Memorabilia, more than four years on Whop, and a yearly plan that lowers the cost for regular traders [1][2][4].
Things to know before you join The Hobby Hangout
Both plans renew automatically, at $20 every 30 days or $185 every 365 days, charged in full at checkout with no trial [3][4]. Cancel through Whop before the renewal date if you don't want the next period; access lasts until the paid period ends [5].
Refund requests go through Whop's Resolution Center, which says a decision arrives within a week at most [6].
The subscription pays for access to the community, and each card deal is agreed between the members involved [2]. That is why the store asks newcomers to read the Server Guide first and offers the middleman for deals where both sides want a check in between [2]. For connection problems, the pinned post points to the Support link on the Whop page and the FAQ points to the store's Instagram [1][2].
The Hobby Hangout price and how to save
Prices checked 13 October 2026 on Whop: The HobbyHangout Discord Pass costs $20 a month or $185 a year [3][4].
For current codes tested at Whop's checkout, see The Hobby Hangout code page on Promo Drop before paying. Promo Drop also offers cashback on eligible Whop purchases, which can trim the cost of either plan.
Verdict on The Hobby Hangout
The Hobby Hangout is a strong fit for sports card and TCG collectors who want a members-only place to buy, sell and trade, backed by a pay-on-arrival promise and an on-camera middleman check [1][2]. More than four years on Whop and 164 five-star ratings show a loyal core of long-standing members [1][2]. Read the Server Guide, lean on the middleman for bigger deals, and pick the yearly plan if you expect to trade all year [2][4].
